“Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person, having neither to weigh thoughts, nor measure words, but pouring them all right out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and with the breath of kindness blow the rest away.”
Tracy Porter
This phrase comes to mind when I think about work because my main tools are words. I graduated as a Psychologist from University of Buenos Aires in Argentina; therefore, psychoanalysis is a huge part of my training. When working with a patient I combine different approaches depending on the challenges they’re facing. I am passionate about helping people achieve their potential and embrace growth.
I have worked with families, couples, teenagers, and adults. Along the years I have periodically volunteered at different institutions and charities; cooperating with a school, a foster care home and a foundation that helped mourning families who had lost a parent or a child. This last experience awakened my interest in Palliative Care, which I have studied for the past few years.
I have lived with my family in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico and now Bahrain. As an expatriate myself I have developed a workshop called “Soul Selfie” to help people in this situation deal with the challenges of living in a new country. I work both in Spanish and in English.
